Mary Johlfs began practicing Pilates in 2001 as a complement to marathon training. With a regular practice, she began to enjoy the benefits that Pilates training brought to her running: increased flexibility and strength, better balance and alignment, and injury prevention.

Mary is a Certified Pilates Teacher, having completed her comprehensive teacher training (450 hours) with Dilla Mastrangelo, a classically trained, second generation Pilates teacher. Additionally, Mary is certified through the Pilates Method Alliance and The Pink Ribbon Program™. She is able to perform and teach at the advanced level on the mat, Reformer, Wunda Chair, Cadillac, Ped-a-Pull, and barrels. Mary has experience working with clients from athletes to seniors, and with a variety of special issues including pregnancy, joint replacement, osteopenia, osteoporosis, stenosis, and post-surgical.

An avid outdoor cyclist, Mary is also a certified Spinning instructor through Mad Dogg Athletics. An accomplished runner, she has completed 25 marathons and ultramarathons. She continues to pursue her goal of completing a marathon in every state. Mary is an RYT (registered yoga teacher) with Yoga Alliance. She is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and IDEA.
